In addition to doing 3D animation, I also work with compositing. I do compositing in Flint* from discreet Logic. It's the "little brother" to Flame and Inferno, and the only difference is the Hardware. The software is more or less the same. Flint* is running on Silicon Graphics computers. I've found that information on simple compositing and "real" visual effects is a little hard to come by on the web. Maybe everybody want to keep their business secrets hidden. I have some examples here from work I've done. Some is just before and after pictures, and other examples include keys and other elements.
